Lima Arequipa

We spended 3  days in Lima.(1 day to much). there was  not a lot to visit, everything is very commun. we visited the city center and some museums. Lima is a very crouded city with 8 millions inhabitants. very clean but very poluted  always trafic jams.

what impressed us: the buses, taxis, difference between  rich and pour, police every corner of the street.

buses: very old and always crowded.it is the cheapest way to travel in Lima

taxis they never stop driving and always ask you if you need a ride even if you walk in the opposit direction (after 2 days it is very enoying :) ).

we stayed in a part of Lima (Miraflores) where rich people live. it is the place with all the hotels and casino (lots of casinos). it a very secure place of LIma even if we didn't feel onsecure in other places. it is not fare from the beach. but there is nothing to see they have only modern building  and no sand but stones.

in front of every bank, hotel, casino  or expensif places you can find security guards and police. they dont really work they have just the uniform.

we though the night bus direction Arequiepa. it was a bit sade it was night bus (but only option 17h driving) because we didn't see the chang of the envirement. we had a good surprise when we woke up. we where middel of desertic mountains.  we arrived in Arequipa at  10 a clock at 2300 meter high.

As Mariem said, Belgium lost against the best team of the universe. It's a pity, they were so ridiculous playing...!!

By the way, I've some good news for you!! I'm leaving to Italy for my Leonardo. Finally I was rejected in Germany, but it's not so bad... Because Yeme is coming too!!! We're going together to Reggio Calabria, just in the "toe" of the boot, near Sicilia. We'll be there in 3-weeks time.

Dommage que vous n'ayez pas pu profiter de la côte, mais vous avez bien fait de laisser Lima. Pour ma part j'ai adoré Arequipa et l'ambiance qui y règne. Il faut dire que j'y suis arrivée le week end de la fête de la région.
